Organic Cost Share Program
The program provides up to $750 or 75 percent of applicable certification costs to USDA certified organic producers and processors. Operations which have both a production and processing component can apply as producers. Examples:
- A dairy operation is a producer
- A dairy operation that bottles their own milk is still a producer
- An operation that only bottles milk they purchase is a processor
Applicable costs must be incurred for certification during the "cost share year" which coincides with the federal fiscal year. Applications are typically due November each calendar year.
